Saturday, May 16th is Disney's Kid's Day America - Dedicated to Children's health, safety and environmental awareness.
This year's celebration is being held at US Play parking lot in Kennesaw from 12 - 3 pm.
There will be lots of activities for the kids:

Some activities and going's on around Atlanta this weekend...
Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History -- Mommy & Me Children's Program Series 10:00 Feb 26 "Camping Out Civil War Style." Civil War soldiers spent a lot of time setting up camp. What are some of the resources they needed? Participants will get to make their own canteens! March 5 "This Train" There are a lot of different trains in the world! Learn about the many different types, and choose your favorite.
High Museum of Art -- Toddler Thursday 11 am - 3 pm Feb 26th: Tipsy Teapots From TALL and TOWERING to short and stout, hand-sculpt a one of a kind original pot fit for a tea party! Mar 5th: Pirate Hats Argh! Get yer landlubber bones to the High for some swashbucklin’ fun with yer mates. Make your own paper pirate hat, then join us fer pirate storytellin’ in our galleys.
Lakeshore Learning Store -- Crafts for Kids Feb 28 "My Animal Journal"Kids can take note of all their favorite animals in an inventive journal they make and decorate themselves. 11am - 3pm
ImagineIt The Children's Museum of Atlanta -- Dr. of Fun: Magical Magic Feb 28 11 a.m. & 1 p.m. Long before TV, people were entertained by magicians and their amazing magic acts. Now it’s time to see if you can make something appear and disappear. The kids won’t believe their eyes as he uses a wizard stick to make things fly. Then they’ll get their own hide-and-seek marble and some sand to take home so they can make the marble appear and reappear over and over again. Click here for a full schedule of events! Chattahoochee Nature Center -- Winter Concert Series Feb 28 11am - 11:45 am & Noon. "Sapien, the Didjeridoo and Udu Too" Sapien captivates you with interesting cultural tidbits, wild and wonderful instruments and its award-winning original music. Hear music from the ancient past all while learning about the traditional music from Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Mexico, and the many tribes of Native America.
Atlantic Station -- Two exhibits end this weekend. "Bodies: The Exhibition " Features more than 250 real, whole and partial human body specimens, giving spectators an up close look inside the body. And "Dialog in the Dark " Experience the scents, sounds, temperatures and textures in total darkness. Both run through March 1.
Stone Mountain -- Come play in the snow! Snow Mountain has been extended to run through March 8th. And the Big Apple Circus, "Play On" is running until March 7th.
Fernbank Museum of Natural History -- Dinosaurs: Ancient Fossils, New Discoveries exhibit opened last week and runs through August. Or enjoy hands on ctivites in the Weekend Wonders series. This month's theme: "Georgia Through Time."
Center for Puppetry Arts . Jack and the Beanstalk is running through March 1.
Callaway Gardens. There's no better time! Callaway Gardens is offering free admission in February. Time is running out!
And just a reminder, around here most of the schools are in the midst of the registration process for the Georgia Pre-K program for next year. For information on Pre-K facilities in your area, check the Bright From the Start Webpage .

Weekend Round-up -- Valentines Day Activities

With Valentine's Day tomorrow, there are lots of activities in and around the city this weekend. Here's a quick round up of some things going on tonight and tomorrow (and a few on Sunday too)...
- Daddy/Daughter-Mother/Son Dance. Ron Anderson Recreation Center, Powder Springs. This is the 1st Annual Ron Anderson Recreation Center Father/Daughter Mother/Son Dance. This dance is open to fathers and daughters, sons and mothers of all ages. Dress is semi-formal to formal. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a night out with family! - Funny Fridays: Valentine's Day Edition. Aurora Theatre, Lawrenceville. The improv comedy group, "The Blacktop Circus" performs songs and sketches. TONIGHT: 7:30 - 10:00 PM. 678-226-6222
- Be My Valentine. Towne Lake Arts Center, Woodstock. An evening of music, romance and laughter for you and your Valentine! - Valentine's Day Sock Hop. Ben Robertson Community Center, Kennesaw. Dig out your poodle skirts & bobby socks. Roll-up your jeans and don your leather jacket. It's party time! Be cool for a night with your sons & daughters as you jitterbug, jive & rock around the clock to 50s & 60s music provided by a professional DJ. Februray 14 6:00 - 9:00 PM. - Date With Dad. American Girl Boutique and Bistro, Alpharetta. Spend a day with Dad! Together, you’ll enjoy fun father/daughter activities and an extra-special meal. Includes a commemorative photo and keepsakes to take home as a reminder of the memories made during your special day. Also includes a memory book creation kit. February 15 4:30 PM, February 18 5:30 PM. Pre-registration Required. This event also takes place in June near Father's Day. Check website for details.
